Pop music as we know it has been around for more than 70 years. Stars have succeeded each other over time, and some have left resounding soundwaves across generations. This is a list, in no particular order, of those we think have had and still have the most influence on pop music as we know it today. Madonna Now, it would not be a pop icon ranking without mentioning the “Queen of Pop” herself, the legendary Madonna. Born in 1958, Madonna is an American singer, songwriter, record producer, and actress that has been active since 1979. With over 300 millions…

Go ahead and look. Look at the girl Who has nothing left to lose. Stare with your judging eyes At the daughter who lost too much, As if you know more about her pain Than she does when it’s her crutch. There’s nothing to gain, Nothing to lose. Pain reminds, Pain remembers. Letting go might hurt more Than twisting the knife. For removing it, What you think is best, Will have her bleed out Or will leave space for another To take its space and dig out the scar. So look. Stare. Don’t take your eyes off. Maybe then she’ll…

There is a debate that has been going around ever since Spider-Man has been getting multiple live actions: which Spider-Man is the best? My answer is: all of them. But why? In 2002, the first live action Spider-Man, casting Tobey Maguire as Peter Parker, came out, followed by two sequels, Spider-Man 2 and Spider-Man 3. Then, in 2012, a new movie duology starring Spider-Man was released: The Amazing Spider-Man, starring Andrew Garfield as Peter Parker. In 2016, the Marvel movie Civil War came out, and a new, third Spider-Man was presented to us: Tom Holland’s Spider-Man, which has been in…

This semester might be well under way, but it is never too late to start being organized or to learn where your resources as a student are. If you are a new student especially, this article is for you. Stay Organized The transition from High School to CEGEP can be difficult, especially with the different schedule, the various online platforms, and work. It can be a lot at first. However, you can’t let it get the best of you, otherwise you’ll keep on sinking and learning bad habits. The best way to not feel overwhelmed is to stay organized. A…

As students, we often overlook the importance of taking care of our nervous systems and we often abuse them without realizing it. We may care more about submitting assignments and exams after assignments and exams, for most of which we often studied late at night because we procrastinated. We rush to catch the bus, take shots of coffee and energy drinks the day after an exam to tackle even more essays and studies, and end up collapsed in our chairs in class, taking doomscrolling as resting. These behaviours are sadly too normalised and it is harming us in the long-run.…

Here’s most of what you need to know to participate in the SLCSA’s elections and to make an educated decision on who to vote for in this electoral campaign. SLCSA Elections The SLCSA, or the St-Lawrence College Student Association, is St-Lawrence’s student government. Their goal is to make sure that every student gets the most out of their college experience here at St-Lawrence by making our school welcoming and fun to attend. They act as a bridge between the students and the school board, making sure that the…
