Forget-me-not

i’m being devoured by every memory i’ve ever had
like Alice in Wonderland drowning the room out.
a strange stillness.

if you incline your ear toward me,
you could hear the tranquillity of the flow.
colours fading into waves,
iridescent blue snaps
until saltwater anesthetizes my lungs.

i effortlessly swallow myself down.
only eyes talking
it’s silence.
(they whisper too softly for anyone to hear)
