CEGEP Champlain St. Lawrence is set to host a vibrant and unique fundraising event this October: CollaborArt: A Celebration of Strength. Organized by Daylight Canada, a female-led non-profit advocating for women’s empowerment, the event is a powerful blend of creativity, community, and activism. Collaborating with the college’s Health & Wellness, LGBTQ+, and Arts & Crafts clubs, this two-day art sale brings together talented female and non-binary artists to support a meaningful cause—the Quebec Breast Cancer Foundation (Fondation Cancer du Sein du Québec).
Art for Empowerment
At its core, CollaborArt is about empowerment through art. The event aims to raise breast cancer awareness while promoting important messages of women’s strength and resilience. Each art piece displayed and sold at the event will be inspired by themes of women’s empowerment, reflecting the talent and vision of the artists involved. With art supplies provided, the recruited artists have over four weeks to bring their vision to life, using their creativity to inspire change and support a worthy cause.
“We believe art is a powerful tool for self-expression and activism,” says the founder of Daylight Canada. “This event not only gives artists a platform to showcase their talent but also helps spread critical messages about women’s health and empowerment.”
Community Collaboration and Impact
CollaborArt goes beyond the canvas. The event is also a vital fundraiser for the Quebec Breast Cancer Foundation, a nonprofit that supports individuals affected by breast cancer across Quebec. The foundation’s mission is to improve the quality of life for those living with breast cancer, while also contributing to cutting-edge research and comprehensive support services.
“We’re thrilled to partner with such a reputable organization,” adds Daylight Canada. “Every dollar raised through this event will make a real difference in the lives of breast cancer patients and their families.”
The event, taking place on October 22nd and 24th at Champlain St. Lawrence College, will feature a booth where attendees can learn more about breast cancer and the Quebec Breast Cancer Foundation. The booth educates and engages the community, raising awareness about early detection and supporting resources.

CEGEP Champlain St. Lawrence community members are encouraged to attend the event, where they can purchase unique artwork or donate to support the cause. It’s a chance to witness the incredible creativity of local female and non-binary artists while contributing to a cause that affects so many lives.
