This semester, we’ve done a quiz and a writing contest. Now, be ready for a photography contest!
The Lions’ Log is organizing its third and last contest of the semester: Jolly Tricks Be Upon Thee! It is never too early for some holiday magic!
For this contest, we want to see your best elf on a shelf tricks as they were caught in the act by your camera. We want to see funny, original, and creative pictures of your elves. For this contest, we will be choosing 5 winners, as well as two honorable mentions to feature in our winners’ article.
To participate, submit your picture on our club email (lionslogslc@gmail.com) or our president’s MIO (mia.bouchard@stu.slc.qc.ca) with a proof that you are the one who took the picture. Here are the guidelines:
- Your picture must be of Christmas elves doing a trick. It cannot be a random plushie, or an ornament doing the trick. It also cannot be simply a picture of your elf/elves.
- No AI of any format is permitted; not for ideas and especially not for the picture. If we suspect you of using AI for you and your picture will be disqualified.
- Your picture should be original. Do not submit an existing picture story taken from the internet, otherwise you will be disqualified.
- For proof of ownership, add a second picture of a selfie of you next to the trick and the elf/elves with the picture you are submitting for the contest. If there is no proof of ownership, you will likely be disqualified.
- We only accept one submission per person.
Our team will be determining the winners based on the respect of the guidelines. As mentioned earlier, we will be determining 5 winners for this contest, plus 5 honorable mentions. The five winners as well as the 2 honorable mentions will be getting a sweet treat, the size depending on their ranking.
To make sure that we can have winners, you will be asked to add your full name and your student email (the one that looks like firstname.lastname@stu.slc.qc.ca) in your submission. Our team will be the only one to see that information, unless you are a winner, in which case we will ask you if you are comfortable with us sharing your name in the winner announcement of the following issue. If you are not comfortable with sharing that information with us, we suggest that you do not participate, since we will not be able to identify you if you end up winning the contest.
The deadline will be on November 18th. After that date, we will no longer accept any submissions.
If you are one of the lucky winners, we will contact you by MIO to give you your prize.
The winning pictures will be posted in our fifth issue that will come out on November 23rd. The article’s name will be “Contest Announcement: Jolly Tricks Be Upon Thee!”
