Welcome to the Lions’Log

Hello and welcome to the Lions’ Log!

The new school year has started, and the Lions’ Log is ready for a new start too! This article will present the club and its mission in as many details as possible without boring you.

First of all, what is the Lions’ Log? Well, in simple terms, it is St-Lawrence’s student newspaper/magazine made by students, for students.

Every two weeks, we strive to keep you informed regarding what is happening at school, as well as to entertain you with creative works, school event coverage, reviews, world news, and more! We always take suggestions for article subjects and student submissions via our email found on the Lion’s Log website in the “contact us” section. You can find all the ways to contact us there as well as at the bottom of this article. We want your opinion and your ideas!

If you want to submit one of your texts, feel free to do so at any time by email. The theme for the following issue will be announced two weeks before the publication date, but you do not have to write something linked to the theme unless you want to! Submission deadlines will be announced at the same time in the same place, which is at the end of the article titled “What’s Happening at SLC?” in each issue.

Throughout the semester, we will also announce contests of which you could be the winner! The guidelines and the prize will be announced in the issue before the submission deadline. The winner will be announced in the issue following the announcement of the contest and their piece (which will be selected by our team) will be featured as its own article.

Now, where can you find us? The newspaper itself is mostly run online, on the Lions’ Log website. There, you will find each article, both new and old, separated in different categories. There are the issues from 1 to 7, which contain the articles from this semester only by release date, the first issue being the oldest (the first issue of the semester) and the seventh being the newest (the last issue of the semester). There is also the “Archive” section where you can find all the articles ever published by the Lions’ Log since its creation in 2020.

When a new issue comes out, posters will be put up all around the school with the QR code to the website for easy access, as well as a summary of the articles written for the issue.

Physical copies of each issue will also be available in some places throughout the school: the Pathfinders, the school library, and the teacher’s lounge. These copies are available to borrow only. We want the copies to be available to all students at any time, and we want to avoid printing too many copies.

You can also find us on instagram and facebook at thelionslog, where we will post updates regarding the issues and the contests.

If you have any questions or suggestions regarding the Lions’s Log, write to us on the club’s email or directly to the club president, Mia Bouchard. We will make sure to write back to you in a timely manner!

Welcome to the Lions’ Log and may you have a great semester!
