For those who have time and who suffer or struggle, I dedicate this article to you. I won’t try to console you. I won’t tell you to keep smiling. I won’t even tell you to keep pushing. Instead, I congratulate you for making it this far.
If this article is reaching you, you’re most likely already in college if not even further. This means you’ve accomplished a lot and whether you notice it or not, you’ve had a great impact on this world. There are most likely people who look up to you, who shower you with affection and many who smile if only because of the small gestures you make.
Every step forward does not have to be in vain. Even if you suffer setbacks, and even if it feels like the whole world is trying to tear you down, you can use what you’ve learned to keep fighting against it. Instead of cursing at this world for each and every bit of pain and stress it gives you, thank it for all the connections it allowed you to make. Thank it for every little hobby, sport, job, moment it has given you. Be happy, for what life has given you shall never truly be taken back. Even if the world plunges you into despair and takes away everything it’s given you, you don’t need to give up. All those moments of hope and happiness were real and will never fully disappear.
I know, perhaps I’m not in the best position to talk. I’m just some person on a laptop. However, if any of this can make you feel slightly better, then my job is done. I could never hope to do more. After all, the happiness of others is also my own. Know that if you ever need help, hiding away can sometimes help but many other options are available to you. Each person has their own way of coping, their own way of pulling through. So, if you wish to keep going, pave your own path. Just try to do so while remembering that others will always be there to lift you up when necessary. On that note, I hope that this article could get you to think a bit more about the full picture, if only the slightest amount.
